Could you please stop?[edit source]

Read the main page. This is a free vandalism wiki. Also, stop copypasting content, by doing that you are getting rid of important history. 110.151.67.148 22:22, 17 June 2022 (UTC)

Yes, but this wiki was not originally designed for that. It was originally a duplicate of a wiki on Miraheze. Now that the original wiki is in danger of getting closed, I want to move it here. If you want a free vandalism wiki, go to this one and start editing. It needs contributors. Otherwise, you can help me clean this wiki up, just like I did with Tiresome Wikis Wiki. Tali64^2 (talk) 02:10, 18 June 2022 (UTC)
But the administrators already have plans on what to do with the pages on the website wikis. Also, stop copypasting pages. You are getting rid of important history. 110.151.67.148 23:13, 18 June 2022 (UTC)

Do you have Discord?[edit source]

I am the user that created Reece Kendrick. Do you have Discord because I rather talk privately and this is important because I notice you wanted to bring this wiki back to life? 89.187.165.121 01:26, 24 June 2022 (UTC)

Sorry for the late response. No, I do not have a Discord. Tali64^2 (talk) 18:27, 5 July 2022 (UTC)
Ouch. I much rather have a private conversation because it's not safe for us to talk here. --84.17.53.22 03:11, 15 July 2022 (UTC)
Like we seriously need Discord for this wiki. Since you claim the Miraheze version is shutting own, I am willing to help you and this wiki. You have to trust me. We gotta talk somewhere private, not here. Discord, YouTube, Twitter, or FANDOM. Just something for both of us please! --84.17.53.12 05:55, 21 July 2022 (UTC)

More Than Just Rotten Websites[edit source]

I think you should do more than just website, believe it or not, there are some rotten Discord Servers out there, too.

QP is dead[edit source]

Funguy2001's wishes have come true.

It's positive because a lot of people hate this network UVA (talk)

Maybe you can rebrand your Rotten Websites into Rotten Sites and Servers.

That can help improve things for you.--DukeyDukeyDoo (talk) 01:37, 23 January 2023 (UTC)

I'm not an administrator here, just a regular user. There used to be a wiki criticizing bad Discord servers, but it's closed now. Tali64^2 (talk) 11:26, 23 January 2023 (UTC)
Then who's the admin here? And besides, I think we're dealing with more than just rotten websites now. There ARE Discord Servers out there that are considered to be rotten as well. I think Discord Servers should be included on this wiki as well. A Rotten Websites and Servers Wiki does make more sense. --DukeyDukeyDoo (talk) 21:14, 23 January 2023 (UTC)
The admin here is User:Mar8122, but his activity is spotty at best, and he's been inactive for several months. If you want to criticize Discord servers, you can make your own wiki about it. However, each wiki host has its own challenges in a wiki of that nature:
  • Fandom: Wiki creation takes only a few minutes, but Fandom's Community Creation Policy prohibits hate wikis (which according to Fandom, is any wiki that is even remotely negative).
  • Miraheze: Wikis have to be requested for manual approval, and a wiki criticizing Discord servers would likely be rejected because 1) this wiki is a "reception wiki" (a wiki listing reasons why a product is good/bad), which are currently not accepted on Miraheze; and 2) because a wiki of its nature would likely run afoul of Miraheze's Content Policy, specifically its provision prohibiting hate wikis, including user-focused negative wikis, which this wiki would fall under.
  • ShoutWiki (the wikifarm this wiki is on): While ShoutWiki does have a policy against hate wikis, their definition of hate wikis only seems to include wikis that are outright libel (e.g. a wiki full of statements like "[X] is a shithead", "[X] should go kill themselves", etc.), not wikis whose goal is to criticize users and/or the content they make, which is why wikis such as Tiresome Wikis Wiki are allowed here when they wouldn't be on other platforms. However, ShoutWiki's wiki creator has been broken for over two years with no signs of coming back. ShoutWiki is currently upgrading to MediaWiki 1.35 (yes, I know that 1.39 is the latest version, and Staff are aware, too, but they've been working on this upgrade for a long time), but that'll be finished when MediaWiki 2.0 releases (which will never happen). Obviously, that's a joke (ever since its release, MediaWiki's version numbers have followed the 1.x format, such as 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc.), but ShoutWiki is currently suffering a shortage of staff members, which is resulting in slow upgrades.
  • EditThis.info: Creating a wiki on this wikifarm only takes a few seconds (compared to a few minutes on Fandom), but EditThis.info is missing a lot of features (including image uploading). Most of the features in core MediaWiki are there, but many features from MediaWiki extensions are absent, including <ref> tags from the Cite extension, which are useful (but not required) for backing up your claims. This was a minor inconvenience for a wiki I have on there, but I was able to find a workaround using the fact that external links typed [likethis.com] with no label display a number instead, mimicking the cite notes provided by the extension. However, what is worse than that is that only administrators on EditThis.info wikis are able to save external links (apparently, you can enable a setting in the Control Panel of EditThis.info wikis that will allow all users to save links, but as far as I'm aware, it doesn't work). Sometimes, you'll get a "External link blocked" error when trying to save external links, but you can refresh the page and click "Submit" on the error box that pops up and it'll save.
  • Wikidot: Wiki creation is free; however, Wikidot uses its own syntax that's different from MediaWiki's, making the migration to a MediaWiki wikifarm difficult if you choose to move. The more content your wiki has, the harder the migration.
  • Other wiki farms: All are either not free, don't use MediaWiki, or their scopes wouldn't accept a wiki criticizing Discord servers. Special mention goes to Wiki-site, which is even more outdated than EditThis.info and is somehow missing a bunch of core MediaWiki features (the RecentChanges and Contributions special pages being among the biggest).
If I had to give you advice on which wikifarm to choose, I'd say this: choose EditThis.info now and ShoutWiki later. EditThis.info is the most like the "Big Three" wikifarms (Fandom, Miraheze, and ShoutWiki); most of the core MediaWiki features are there, and the missing features can easily be worked around (for example, if you wanted an image to display on your EditThis.info wiki, upload it on an image-sharing website and copy the image address). Then, when Staff finally fix ShoutWiki's wiki creator, migrate your wiki there (the wait will be worth it for the features ShoutWiki has) Tali64^2 (talk) 00:23, 24 January 2023 (UTC)

If you plan on adopting this wiki[edit source]

Then can you remove the protection of the Main Page's talk page when you do? Mar8122 locked it for no reason other than the fact that trolls attacked the talk page when he was still active here even though he could've just kept it up and blocked those trolls at the time. SuperStreetKombat (talk) 2:44, 11 July 2023 (UTC)

I will, though adopting a ShoutWiki wiki with an active community requires a discussion, which I will start shortly. Tali64^2 (talk) 21:56, 11 July 2023 (UTC)

You really wanted it back up? Mar8122 (talk) 20:57, 22 July 2023 (UTC)

Well, yeah, 'cause it allows us to express our opinions and views on the entirety of this wiki, and outright removing it can make it really difficult to discuss how we can solve issues on this wiki. Since the discussion tab on the Main Page is gone, users like Tali have no choice but to create entire articles about certain topics in its place, which can actually clutter this wiki, so all the more reason to bring back the Main Page's discussion tab. SuperStreetKombat (talk) 11:48, 23 July 2023 (UTC)

Well you do have a point there. Sorry that main page talk was gone because I thought trolls would come back. But you seem nice community. --Mar8122 (talk) 03:45, 28 July 2023 (UTC)

How to get rid of the spambots?[edit source]

I just don't know how to do it. GabrielPennington9864 (talk) 16:39, 15 July 2023 (UTC)

Only administrators/bureaucrats can block spambots; I asked the owner of this wiki to grant me admin + bureaucrat, but if he doesn't respond, I have plans to adopt the wiki. Tali64^2 (talk) 17:38, 14 July 2023 (UTC)

Where to make Unwatchable Camps Wiki when ShoutWiki's creator is down?[edit source]

Maybe I can use editthis.info instead or something, Unwatchable Caps Wiki is a wiki aimed to criticize training camps (not regular camps).

Templates from Tiresome Wikis[edit source]

Should we add the "Citation needed" and "Needs references" templates here? I'm asking because I've seen several pages with little to no references. ChillyBeanBAM (talk) 16:44, 11 September 2023 (UTC)

I have a question[edit source]

Should we add a website that is already rotten? UVA (talk) 21:27, 6 February 2024 (UTC)

What website did you have in mind? Tali64^2 (talk) 21:35, 6 February 2024 (UTC)

Idk should we put a Gaming website UVA (talk)

You deleted the Antoons page[edit source]

If is unsourced and poorly written so help me to create the page UVA (talk) 12:06, 14 February 2024 (UTC)

Pages about real-life people that are unsourced and especially written badly are problematic because they could be seen as libel; you're welcome to start creating the page again in your sandbox, making sure to add references to it. Tali64^2 (talk) 12:27, 14 February 2024 (UTC)

Ok Mr.I know everything unfortunately Antoons will not be put in Rotten Websites Wiki

What is the difference between fact and opinions?[edit source]

This is has to say long UVA (talk) 15:11, 15 February 2024 (UTC)

A fact is a statement based on objectivity that can be verified as true; an opinion is a subjective statement that can't be verified but can be shared by multiple people. Tali64^2 (talk) 15:30, 15 February 2024 (UTC)
So... Treating opinions as facts is equal to opinion bashing UVA (talk) 12:53, 18 February 2024 (UTC)
And this wiki also treat opinion as facts lol UVA (talk) 12:55, 18 February 2024 (UTC)
@UVA: This wiki is made to show popular opinion and explain why it is the popular opinion. Money12123 (contribs | sandbox) 20:57, 18 February 2024 (UTC)

@UVA: You don't know the difference between facts and opinions? SuperStreetKombat (talk) 7:41, 14 March 2024 (UTC) Yes I know!!!!! I am not dumb >:( UVA (talk)

@SuperStreetKombat:This wiki is treating opinions as facts i supposeUVA (talk)

Youtube is now bad[edit source]

Susan wojicki ruin youtube just for money it's true.I don't say bullshitsUVA (talk) These are the reasons why I put the quote called "Don't listen to Susan wojicki is a liar" and every user delete my wonderful quote for no reasonsUVA (talk)

Is UVA a toxic user or troll?[edit source]

It's a question UVA (talk) 14:49, 16 February 2024 (UTC)

Neither; they're a user who is well-intentioned but needs a little extra guidance. I believe you'll benefit from this web page that has links to everything you need to know about basic English grammar. You don't have to read it all at once; you can study it a little a day to improve your English. Tali64^2 (talk) 15:35, 16 February 2024 (UTC)

Restoring old main page edits[edit source]

Could you please rename the main page back to Main Page just temporarily, restore the deleted edits, and then move it back? No this isn't about the main page naming. Money12123 (contribs | sandbox) 23:25, 16 February 2024 (UTC)

This has been done; for the record, no page renaming was necessary. Tali64^2 (talk) 00:07, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
Could you do the same thing with Talk:Main Page and Talk:Main Page (2) by merging their histories into Talk:Rotten Websites Wiki? Money12123 (contribs | sandbox) 00:25, 18 February 2024 (UTC)
Archived instead because of how stale the threads are: Talk:Rotten Websites Wiki/Archive 1. Tali64^2 (talk) 00:55, 18 February 2024 (UTC)
Could you restore the history though? Preferably on Talk:Rotten Websites Wiki. Money12123 (contribs | sandbox) 21:03, 18 February 2024 (UTC)
Page history is not important for talk page archives, as it's not actual content and every statement that someone has left is attributed to them most of the time; Miraheze Meta doesn't preserve page history for archives of discussion pages for this reason. Tali64^2 (talk) 22:46, 18 February 2024 (UTC)
It remains on the history of the page itself. Talk:Rotten Websites Wiki/Archive 1 indeed should not have page history, but Talk:Rotten Websites Wiki should. Money12123 (contribs | sandbox) 20:55, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
Hello? Money12123 (contribs | sandbox) 22:34, 25 February 2024 (UTC)

About -abigblueworld-[edit source]

I just noticed that a page called "YOU ARE GAY FUUUUUUUUUUUCK" was originally created on this wiki, but you deleted it, and do you think that page was made by -abigblueworld-? If she's back, then ShoutWiki will be in danger again, and she'll start raiding this wiki and destroy it like she did Weirdcyclopedia. Her return on Miraheze was bad enough, but her hypothetical return on ShoutWiki will only make things worse, and she needs to be stopped at all costs. SuperStreetKombat (talk) 4:28, 16 February 2024 (UTC)

No; the page was originally created 6 months before -abigblueworld- first started attacking random wikis. Tali64^2 (talk) 02:05, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
YOU ARE GAY FUUUUUUUUUUUCK what is this awful page? UVA (talk) 18:42, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
A long time ago, one user moved the old main page to that title; recently, I merged most of its history with the current main page. Several pages on TWW suffered from page move vandalism, but I haven't gotten around to merging those edits for various reasons; it's something I'll do in the near future once I get other things taken care of. Tali64^2 (talk) 19:07, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
That gal named a Bigblueworld must be stopped for good UVA (talk) 20:01, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
ABBW hasn't been on ShoutWiki since May of 2023, so ShoutWiki is safe, at least, for the time being. SuperStreetKombat (talk) 6:37, 18 February 2024 (UTC)

Ok if ABBW isn't on ShoutWiki we are fine, Mr.I am the ruler here UVA

Miraheze is one of the best hosting services of all the time[edit source]

My favorite hosting service. I prefer this than Telepedia UVA (talk) 13:02, 18 February 2024 (UTC)

Telepedia just looks a Miraheze ripoff UVA (talk) 13:07, 18 February 2024 (UTC)

Hooray Ferran Tufan and John Lewis for making the place full of polandball wikis nowadays

Help i can't log in[edit source]

Someone prevents me to log in in this tiresome wiki! Why it's happening so many times

I have experienced this issue before; I fixed it by clearing my cookies for shoutwiki.com. Tali64^2 (talk) 21:47, 28 February 2024 (UTC)

What is the term Touching grass?[edit source]

I want-a to know Tali64! I'm-a very curious UVA

It basically means to take a break from the Internet; it doesn't necessarily involve going outside, but that's often a component. Tali64^2 (talk) 17:58, 2 March 2024 (UTC)

A vandal is on this wiki[edit source]

An IP user created a page that just simply says the N-word, so I'm wondering if you could block it. Thanks. https://rottenwebsites.shoutwiki.com/wiki/Special:Contributions/68.4.91.217 SuperStreetKombat (talk) 12:17, 10 March 2024 (UTC) A vandal?!🤯 Impossible >:( UVA (talk)

That page may be deleted, bit what about blocking that vandal? I know it's an IP user, but it still needs to be punished for creating that page. Since it's an IP account, maybe you could at least block temporarily instead of permanently since others may use that exact same IP account? SuperStreetKombat (talk) 12:54, 10 March 2024 (UTC)

The IP's only contribution was creating that page; if it recreates it or starts vandalizing more, a block may be considered. Tali64^2 (talk) 22:15, 10 March 2024 (UTC)

I agree for this discussion Tali UVA (talk)

Hey mr.I know everything[edit source]

Are you american?
