Yahoo! (/ˈjɑːhuː/, styled yahoo! in its logo) is an American web services provider. It is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, and operated by the namesake company Yahoo! Inc., which is 90% owned by investment funds managed by Apollo Global Management and 10% by Verizon Communications.
Yahoo was established by Jerry Yang and David Filo in January 1994 and was one of the pioneers of the early Internet era in the 1990s. However, its use declined in the late 2000s as some of its services were discontinued, and it lost market share to Facebook and Google.
While the site has been good in 1994-2007. Sadly, it went mixed bag in 2008-2009 when it states issues with company. When it closing down many services in 2010, the site went downfall.
Why They're Boohoo![edit | edit source]
- To get elephant out of the room, Yahoo! is lead to downhill ever since GeoCities closing down. It notorious for closing down many services rather than improving. For example, Yahoo! Answers.
- Abysmal acquisition. It acquires to some media incorporations which supposed to improving this websites, which end up shut down.
- The new logo is horrible.
- Bad updates.
